摘要

本文介绍了什么是单模光纤偏振模色散（ＰＭＤ）及其形成的原因，ＩＴＵ－Ｔ规定ＰＭＤ≤０．５ｐｓ／ｋｍ意味着什么，偏振模色散的统计特性，以及对光纤通信的影响。

Abstract

This paper presents the concept and the cause induced of PMD

and the reason for specified PMD≤0.5ps/km by ITU T. the statistical characteristic of PMD and the effect of PMD on optical fiber communication are introduced.
