We succesfully developed 1. 48μm high-power GaInAsP/InP lasers by a two -step liquid phase epitaxial growth
the fiber output power is greater than 30mW. The devices are used as pumping light sources of erbium-doped fiber amplifier （EDFA）
a gain of 28dB for small signal was achieved by means of bidirectional pumping method. A stable and reliable performance and better thermal characteristics of the devices were demonstrated during long time operation.
