综述了掺铒光纤放大器的研究进展及最新成果。

Abstract

In recent years

An increasing attention has been drawn to using Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers （EDFAs） as new devices for optical communication at 1.5μm communication window.In Gbit/s long link transmission experiment

EDFAs have been used as power amplifiers

in-line repeaters or preamplifiers.In this paper

the fundamental principle of EDFAs is introduced

The progress ang the recent outcomes of the research activities are reviewed.
