OTN which is located in optical layer of transport network should satisfy the relevant requirements of jitter performance in order to guarantee a proper quality of the transmitted signals

it is same as PDH and SDH network. In this paper the jitter and wander performance requirements of NNI and equipment interface of OTN

including maximum limits of jitter and wander

jitter transfer characteristics and minimum equipment tolerance to jitter and wander would be introduced briefly. At last

the Hypothetical Reference Model （HRM） used to obtain the jitter accumulation of OTN and the jitter accumulation algorithm has been described.
