Abstract

The performances of the prioritized burst retransmission scheme and the segmentation-based IP retransmission scheme in optical burst switching（OBS） networks are analyzed and compared. The results indicate that the former is an ideal retransmission option as in this option

the frequency of retransmission and the needed size of buffer and the retransmission delay can be effectively reduced

and the network throughput improved.
