Property study on micro-mechanical strain-induced long period fiber gratings
The properties of Long Period Fiber Gratings(LPFG) are analyzed by applying the coupled-mode theory and the relationship between the physical parameters and the grating spectra obtained and simulated by using Matlab.Periodic rectangular pressure grooves with periods of 600
620 and 660 μm and period numbers of 60
80 and 90 are produced on the basis of the mechanical linear processing technology. The maximum resonant peak of the grating fabricated by using the mechanical micro-bending principle can be as high as 18 dB.The resonant wavelength is tunable and the transmission spectra are identical with the theoretical analysis.
