Abstract

This paper proposes a novel signaling set-up and protocol scheme for optical links that is based on a mobile agent and Optical Burst Switching（OBS） network

in which the active packet structure is used in the mobile agent to epitomize the signaling information and data flow in a BHP so as to reduce the time for the set-up of an optical circuit. In this scheme

distributed processing links can be realized to reduce the workload of a node in the network and enhance its parallel operational capability.
