This paper introduces the key technologies for Optical Network Unit（ONU） modules in 10 Gbit/s Ethernet Passive Optical Network（EPON） systems and describes the design of optical burst transmitter/receiver module that conforms with the standard.The test results show this module in the case of burst mode has the function of launching optical power and extinction ratio with short turn on/off delay and remain constant over a wide range of temperature.Furthermore
