摘要

L2TPv3（第二层隧道协议第3版）规范RFC 3931中提到了协议实现时需要考虑IP分片的问题

但是并没有给出具体的解决方案。文章在已有的PMTUD（路径最大传输单元发现）解决方案的基础上

综合了几种方案的优点

给出了适合于L2TPv3的具体解决方案。该方案考虑了现有网络中存在新旧两种格式的ICMP（因特网控制信息协议）消息的情况

增强了适用性。

Abstract

The L2TPv3 protocol specification RFC 3931refers to the necessity of considering IP fragmentation in the protocol implementation

but fails to give a specific solution.On the basis of the existing solutions to Path Maximum Transmission Unit Discovery（PMTUD）and the advantages of several solutions

it proposes a specific solution suitable for L2TPv3

which takes into consideration the existence of both old and new formats of Internet Control Message Protocol（ICMP）messages in the existing networks

thus enhancing its applicability.
