Abstract

This paper studies the highly efficient routing protocols in wireless sensor networks and analyzes in detail the rule of cluster head selection for a classical hierarchical routing protocol

i.e.Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy（LEACH） protocol and the clustering algorithm and points out the limitation of this algorithm. In view of the different cluster head node positions

it presents an improved algorithm for the multi-hop relay transfers between the cluster heads.Simulation results prove that the network survival time in this improved algorithm is better than that in the LEACH algorithm.
