Mid-infrared supercontinuum generated in photonic crystal fibers and its control
A telluride Photonic Crystal Fiber(PCF)with low-loss and high nonlinearity is designed and the nonlinear Schrodinger equation is solved by using the split-step Fourier algorithm. Then
the generation and optimization of the mid-infrared Super-Continuum(SC)in the PCF is numerically simulated
the impacts of the parameters of the PCF and pump light source on the SC are analyzed and the variations of the SC width and flatness with the PCF length
dispersion parameters
the peak power value and initial width of pump pulses are obtained. The simulation results reveal that when a pump light with a center wavelength of 2μm
pulse peak power of 20 kW and pulse width of 100 fs travels in the PCF for 15 cm
the SC can span from 1 330 to 3 450 nm with good continuity and flatness.
