Long-haul Transmission Using Raman Amplification and DBP Algorithm
A long-haul optical fiber communication system after 2 000-km fiber transmission with 16-ary Quadrature Amplitude modulation(16 QAM)format is experimental demonstrated. The system uses backward distributed Raman amplification and Digital Background Propagation(DBP)algorithm at the receiver side to compensate the nonlinear effects in fiber transmission.By adapting the distributed Raman amplification
the signal power in the fiber does not decay exponentially. The experiment results show that the proposed DBP algorithm can achieve 2.1 dB improvement of Q2-factor.
