        摘要：A key component used in optical fiber local area network （LAN） is the single-mode fiber star coupler. This paper presents the technique for constructing such a novel reflective single-mlde fiber star coupler （made up of 2×2 couplers and optical fiber loops） and its characteristics. The dependence of reflectivity on the coupling performance for the optical fiber loop is analyzed theoretically. Finally, the experimental result of a newly fabricated reflective single-mode fiber 8 port star coupler is discussed.

        摘要：This paper presents the operating principle,design methods and experimental results of an optical variable attenuator. Glass plates deposited with metal through vapor deposition were used as attenuation elements. The continuously variable attenuation along with step attenuation extends the range of attenuation and makes the devies more stable.

        摘要：The Low-Delay Code-Exited Linear Predictive （LD-CELP） Speech Coder can combine high quality with low delay at quite low bit rates. Its computational complexity can be reduced by the autocorrelation search procedure which is on the basis of the full search procedure. Its robust ability can be increased by the robust codebook. In addition,an 8kbit/s LD-CELP system has been simulated.

        摘要：<正> 据《Laser Focus world》1992.12报道:AT&T宣布在第一个使用光放大器的跨太平洋光缆系统TPC-5中投资4亿美元。该系统将夏威夷、关岛、日本和美国本土相连,总投资11亿美元。该系统的南路将于1995年末开通,整个系统最终于1996年开通。AT&T为主要投资者,投资额占整个投资的35%。此外,还有34个国家的46家公司投资了该网络。

        摘要：This paper gives an outline of a new current—differential relay based on the techniques of optical fiber transmission and microcomputer, and further describes the principle and construction of the relay. Moreover,new methods are put forward to surmount the’particular problems existing in short-line protections.         摘要：The mumerical opertuer of bending multimode fiber of various outer and core diameter is measured using far field method and compared with the calculation formala presented by the author. It is found that experimental results are in good agreement with the theoretical results. For standard communication multimode fibers,the bending radius is suggested at least larger than 80 mm in jacketing and installation.
