Fiber Bragg Grating(FBG) sensors are applicable to quasi-distributed sensing networks due to its unique characteristic of wavelength-encoded measurand information. In this paper
several demodulation techniques for FBG sensing networks are discussed with the emphasis on their principles
performances and characteristics.Several commonly-used FBG multiplexing methods are analyzed
their merits
demerits and the networking scale compared and the development prospects of quasi-distributed FBG sensing networks are discussed.
