Abstract

The article begins with a brief discussion on the present status of local SDH transmission networks

which is followed by fairly detailed descriptions of the hierarchical and ring network structures

the computations of the regenerative sections in equipment allocations

network synchronization and the conditions for their applications. Then practical SDH networking is analyzed and the development and planning of the local SDH transmission networks are expounded. It is ended with an emphasis of the importance of transmission network planning in telecom network construction.
