Abstract

This paper starts with an introduction to the basic principle of Radio over Fiber（ROF） and then presents the multiple applications of ROF technology in future wireless broadband mobile communications

including those in wireless access in multiple systems with heavy loads and in interconnections between the base station and the optical network node equipment in wireless mobile networks. Finally it summarizes the technical advantages of RoF and presents the key technical problems to be resolved.
