As Ethernet Passive Optical Network（EPON） has become one of the most widely used technologies for broadband access

it is necessary to equip it with a strong network management system. In order to satisfy the demand for enhanced source management of EPON

a resource management subsystem is designed

so as to implement real-time supervision for the management and status of the network resource. This paper first introduces the overall architecture of the EPON management system

then describes the design scheme for the resource management subsystem and finally realizes it at the NM client end

server end and the agent side.
