the filtering characteristics of the Optical Channel Monitor(OCM) based on the Integrated Optics Acousto-optic Tunable Filer(IAOTF) are introduced
the relevant tests for verification performed and reasons for the growth of its asymmetric sidelobes and the resulted crosstalk analyzed. It is found that the sidelobes are resulted from the nonuniform distribution of the waveguide birefringence rate from the device center towards both ends and the level of the OCM crosstalk is dependent not only upon the position but also the intensity of the sidelobes. However
the sidelobes can be effectively compressed and the crosstalk greatly reduced by using a quasi-linear cascaded structure.
