Strain and temperature are simultaneously measured by using the conical structure of a single Fiber Bragg Grating(FBG)sensor and the necessary parameters.Information is encoded by writing it in a linearly etched fiber and making it into a conical structure and using the peak wavelength and the waveform half peak width of the sensor.Strain-temperature cross-sensitivity of a single FGB can be resolved by utilizing the feature that its half peak width is only dependent on the applied strain
but not on temperature variations.Matlab simulation results indicate that the errors of the strain and temperature are defined as±15.26μεand±1.92℃respectively.
