With the development of intelligent terminals and Internet
the Wireless Local-Aarea Networks(WLAN)are becoming more and more popular worldwide
and have been the most-widely used broadband wireless access technology. The further development of WLAN technology is facing three problems in coverage
interference
and maintenance. The three problems can be effectively solved by combining WLAN and Radio-over-Fiber(ROF)technologies.Nevertheless
in the new-generation WLAN standards
2.4 and 5 GHz two operating frequency-bands are defined
and advanced Multi-Input Multi-Output(MIMO)technique is adopted.In addition
IEEE 802.11 n/ac standards significantly enhance the network throughput. All these new features pose stringent requirements and challenges. In this paper
our recent works are reviewed in threes aspects:digital nonlinear compensation in multi-band ROF systems
single-fiber transmission of wireless MIMO signals
and modeling in WLAN throughput performance.
