Research on a Monte Carlo-based Multi-Scattering Model for Ultraviolet Light
To address the complexity of deriving closed-form solutions for the scattering phase function in ultraviolet light multiple scattering models
this paper proposes a Monte-Carlo (MC) based acceptance-rejection sampling method for efficient scattering angle sampling.
Methods
2
First
a programmatically sampleable envelope function was designed to generate numerous scattering angles. These angles were then filtered through the ratio of the envelope function to the scattering phase function. The qualified scattering angles conforming to the phase function distribution were subsequently incorporated into the MC photon algorithm to simulate path loss and channel impulse response under various transceiver parameters in ultraviolet light transmission.
Results
2
Simulation results demonstrate that the transmitter elevation angle exerts greater influence on path loss than the receiver elevation angle
while variations in the receiver's field of view significantly affect path loss. As both transceiver elevation angles increase
the peak value of channel impulse response decreases
accompanied by increase in delay spread.
Conclusions
2
Unlike most ultraviolet light studies lacking experimental validation
this work conducted comparative experiments using a self-developed ultraviolet communication system. Experimental results prove good agreement between the proposed MC based multiple scattering model and measured data
with path loss errors below 4 dB across different distances
