For each issue of Study on Optical Communications, different executive editors are responsible for the preliminary review process. After the preliminary review by the executive editor, at least two peer reviewers are invited to conduct a double-blind peer review on the manuscript. The academic quality of the manuscript is evaluated based on the following aspects:

  • Are there any academic ethical issues with the manuscript? Does it align with the scope of the journal?
  • What is the significance of the research topic? Is it cutting-edge and timely?
  • Does the original research paper demonstrate sufficient originality? Does the review article have depth and forward-looking perspectives?
  • Are the arguments, experiments, and references in the manuscript adequate?
  • Is the structure, language, and logic of the manuscript rigorous?
  • If the manuscript is rejected but the research is still meaningful, what specific work is needed to make it acceptable?
